Diagnosis and therapy

For the diagnosis of all neurological diseases, we use special EEG procedures as well as all common electrophysiological examination options for measuring nerve conduction velocities and EMG.

I have the possibility to have blood analyses carried out in the practice. In addition, the gene laboratory for holistic DNA analyses, Dr. Seibt Genomics, is located at the Bonner Bogen. He is also a cooperation partner.

Interdisciplinary cooperation

Prof. Dr. Sven Schinner and I have founded a joint practice, also with the aim of making interdisciplinary diagnosis and treatment possible. We work closely with other specialists in neurosurgery, cardiology, orthopaedics, urology, neuropsychology, neuroradiology, psychiatry and psychosomatics. If necessary, we also develop individual examination and treatment concepts for you together as a team.

In addition, in the case of particularly complex problems, there is the possibility of cooperating with the special neurological outpatient clinics of the large regional clinics, including the university clinics in Bonn, Cologne, Düsseldorf or Essen, as well as making referrals to the two headache clinics in Kiel and Königstein or, if necessary, arranging inpatient referrals to neurological clinics according to the different diseases.

Thyroid diseases such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis or hyperthyroidism also lead to pronounced sleep disorders, which must be diagnosed and treated, because in the long term, as already mentioned, this can negatively affect the patient’s quality of life, ability to work, etc. In the team with Prof. Sven Schinner, we can diagnose such disorders in patients, analyse the causes and treat them accordingly in a competent and interdisciplinary manner.

Women in the menopause often complain of sleep disorders, which should be further clarified by endocrinology or gynaecology.

In men with low testosterone levels, sleep disorders are not uncommon and can often be quickly regulated by substitution of this hormone alone.
